Short Overview

SURGIFLO™ Hemostatic Matrix Kit, mixed with thrombin solution, is indicated in surgical procedures as an adjunct to hemostasis when control of bleeding by ligature or other conventional methods is ineffective or impractical. This flowable gelatin matrix can be prepared inside or outside the sterile field and can be used in laparoscopic surgery to control bleeding.
In a large retrospective spine surgery study comparing FLOSEAL™ Matrix vs. SURGIFLO™, SURGIFLO™ was associated with:
- Shorter mean length of stay (LOS)^1A
- Significantly lower risk for ICU admission^1B (6.6% vs 11.7%, respectively, P<.0001)
- Significantly shorter operating room time^2CD
